As Vice President of the Booster Pitch Nights pillar within the LBS Entrepreneurship Club, I help organize pitch competitions that give student founders a real stage, real judges, and real feedback. Each Pitch Night features 5 startups pitching for 3 minutes each to a panel of VCs, angels, and founders, followed by Q&A and a networking session.
My role covered reviewing all 20 pitch applications to select the final lineup, reaching out to investors and founders to build the judging panel, and moderating the evening itself. One moment I’m particularly proud of: when my team initially passed on Scholara, an AI tool automating systematic reviews in pharma, I went through all the applications in detail and made a strong case for why they deserved a spot. I saw the market opportunity clearly, both from building AI workflow tools myself and from the sheer number of conversations I’d had with founders and investors in the space. The team agreed, Scholara was invited to pitch, and they ended up winning the entire competition that night.
The first Booster Pitch Night turned out to be one of the most well-attended events at LBS. The lecture theatre was completely full, with people even sitting on the stairs because there were no seats left. The networking session ran well past the scheduled end time, and it was great to see the energy in the room, both from the founders pitching and from the audience asking questions and connecting with the judges afterwards. We are now planning the next session for April 2026.
