A few months ago, I founded the only student-led public speaking and debating club at LBS with a simple belief: as AI becomes increasingly capable of doing more of our work, the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence matters more than ever. I’m equally convinced that the best way to develop these skills isn’t through theory, but through active practice in a supportive and low pressure environment.
What started as a casual idea turned into one of the fastest growing student societies on campus. We held our kickoff event on 27 October 2025, and within a few months we reached over 130 members and earned official Society status from the Student Association.
We run sessions covering a range of formats: structured parliamentary debates, impromptu speaking exercises, persuasive pitch practice, storytelling nights, and improv presentations. Every session is designed around audience participation rather than passive listening, and we rotate formats each event to keep things fresh for both new and returning members.
We’re currently organising an LBS vs Cambridge Judge Business School AI Debate for May 2026, with the ambition of making inter university debates an annual tradition.
